On December 28, 2024, at the Ark Fiesta Event Space, the Miss Stellar Queen International (MSQI) movement took another bold step forward – not just in discovering future queens, but in championing sustainability and inspiring meaningful conversations.

This wasn’t just another pageant audition. It was a day filled with pisces of change, powerful women, and the star of something deeper.
A Morning of Empowerment and Awareness
The event began with a warm welcome from Sherlyn Chan , founder of MSQI and the driving force behind its advocacy-based platform. Her opening remarks set the tone: Beauty with purpose – a commitment to values that go beyond crowns and titles.
The agenda unfolded with insightful talks from distinguished speakers:
- Afirul Idris took the stage to speak on Empowering Youth into Sustainability, sparking ideas on how the next generation can lead change through mindful living
- Datin Lorela Chia, known for her leadership in women empowerment, shared her thoughts on Sustainability Through Empowerment, illustrating how women can be the face of transformation in both community and environment
- Sherlyn Chan returned to emphasized how MSQI in weaving sustainability into the very fabric of its pageant structure

Walking the Talk: Sustainability in Action
DCC Present Sdn Bhd, the organizing company behind MSQI, made its first public commitment to sustainable event practices during the KL audition. From using digital registration and QR code kits to minimizing single-use plastics and printed materials, the event served as a prototype for what’s to come.
This effort is just the beginning. The upcoming finale of Miss Stellar Queen International will take the sustainability pledge further by aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Ex[ect a reduced-waste event, digital alternatives to traditional backdrops, and conscious consumption woven into the entire experience.

As the audition concluded with group photos and tokens of appreciation, the message was clear: MSQI is here not just to crown queens, but to build changemakers – women who rise with purpose, lead with empathy, and walk the talk when it comes to sustainability and advocacy.
